Unique feathery foliage and pendulous branches makes Betula pendula ‘Dalecarlica one of the most graceful of all Birches. The attractive deeply cut, mid-green leaves turn a good yellow in autumn. Known as the Swedish Birch tree, the bark is similar to that of our native Betula pendula in that it is a silvery white with dark fissures in maturity.

Betula pendula ‘Dalecarlica’ has a tall and slender form, with attractive weeping branches as it matures. It makes a splendid specimen tree, giving good interest in all seasons.

As with many Birches, this cut-leaved form is tolerant of most soil types and conditions including damp or sandy soils. Expect a 20 year height and spread of 7 x 3 metres.
