The business has been established since 1998 and during that time we have evolved from just providing landscaping services to establishing a  Nursery in the picturesque setting of Gransha Road at the crossroad with Gilnahirk Road.

The Nursery attracts homeowners, farmers, landscapers, developers, golf courses and Parks Departments.

At the Nursery we can provide advice on the most suitable plants for your garden. We can arrange hedge, tree and shrub and planting schemes, including supplying and planting if required.

Many of the plants at the Nursery have been grown on site and we can offer these at great prices with even better discounts for larger numbers. Please Contact Stephen to enquire.

Plants grown on site include fruit trees and bushes, shrubs, trees and hedging plants.

We also have a selection of mature hedging for an instant screen or boundary hedge.

Woodcroft also has a grounds maintenance team that provides a complete gardening service including grass and hedge cutting, weed control, planting, seeding and turfing lawns, drainage, fencing and much more.

We would be happy to quote for any of your gardening needs. We look forward to working with you.

The brief from the client was to redesign the garden to maximise the area available and make it a useable space. They were keen to be able to entertain and enjoy the garden all year round.

The first phase was to clear the site by pruning the current shrubbery and trees and trying to incorporate into the design what was there originally. Then we installed the edging for the shrub beds and wheelbarrowed in 40 tonne of soil due to restricted access. This was used to raise up the lawn and provide soil for the flower beds and vegetable patch. The edging for the path in the woodland area was created from logs already on the site.

The pictures below show the transformation with planting and lawn turf used to create the overall effect.

The brief from the client was to install drains in his lawn to remove a wet patch. The drains were dug by hand due to limited access for a digger. To remove the soil a trailer was placed beside the wall to allow easy access for a power-barrow.

The client wanted two areas of grass cut to make it a use able space. The grass was cut using a sickle bar on a two wheel tractor. The grass was then raked up using a belt hay rake and lifted using a buckrake on a compact tractor.

Garden Landscaping Belfast – Stunning Belmont Transformation

Looking for professional garden landscaping in Belfast? This complete transformation in Belmont showcases how we turn tired outdoor spaces into beautiful gardens you’ll love spending time in.

The Challenge: Tired Lawn Needs Professional Help

Our Belmont client contacted us when their lawn had become patchy and waterlogged. Years of heavy use had compacted the soil, creating drainage problems and bare patches. They wanted a complete transformation that would be both beautiful and functional for their family.

Initial problems we discovered:

  • Severely compacted soil preventing healthy grass growth
  • Poor drainage causing winter waterlogging
  • Uneven surfaces and undefined edges
  • General tired appearance throughout

Every successful project requires careful planning and expert execution. Our experienced team delivered this transformation through a proven process:

1. Comprehensive Site Analysis
We assessed drainage patterns, soil quality, and sun exposure to create the optimal plan for this Belmont garden.

2. Ground Preparation Excellence
Complete removal of old turf, installation of drainage improvements, and importing premium screened topsoil created the perfect foundation.

3. Premium Turf Installation
Using cultivated turf ideal for Northern Ireland’s climate, our professional installation ensures level surfaces and seamless joins.

Fruit Trees Northern Ireland – Create Your Own Orchard

Ready to grow your own fruit? Our selection of fruit trees for Northern Ireland gardens includes mature apple, pear and cherry trees perfectly suited to our climate. At Woodcroft Landscapes, we supply and professionally plant fruit trees that will thrive in Belfast and beyond.

Why Plant Fruit Trees in Northern Ireland?

Northern Ireland’s temperate climate is ideal for growing fruit trees. Our cool winters provide the chill hours needed for proper fruiting, while our mild summers allow steady ripening. Whether you want a single specimen or a full landscaping service, we have the expertise to help.

Benefits of planting fruit trees include:

  • Fresh, organic fruit from your own garden
  • Beautiful spring blossoms for wildlife and pollinators
  • Increased property value with mature trees
  • Educational opportunities for children
  • Reduced food miles and plastic packaging

Best Fruit Trees for Your Garden

Apple Trees are the most reliable fruit trees for Northern Ireland. We stock heritage Irish varieties like Bramley’s Seedling and Irish Peach, alongside modern disease-resistant cultivars. Most need a pollination partner – we’ll advise on compatible varieties. See the fruit pollination guide from the RHS.

Pear Trees flourish against warm walls in Northern Ireland gardens. Conference and Concorde are reliable self-fertile options, perfect for smaller spaces. Our mature pear trees establish quickly and fruit within 2-3 years.

Cherry Trees bring stunning spring displays plus summer fruit. We recommend Stella (self-fertile) or Morello for cooking. These fruit trees need well-drained soil but reward you with abundant harvests.

Professional Fruit Tree Planting Service

Planting fruit trees in Northern Ireland requires local knowledge. Our professional tree planting team ensures:

  • Correct planting depth and staking
  • Protection from rabbits and deer
  • Proper soil preparation with compost
  • Aftercare advice for pruning and feeding

Choosing Fruit Trees for Your Belfast Garden

When selecting fruit trees for planting, consider:

  • Space available: Dwarf rootstocks for small gardens, semi-vigorous for larger plots
  • Aspect: South-facing for heat-loving fruits, any aspect for apples
  • Soil type: Most fruit trees prefer free-draining soil
  • Pollination: Some need partners – we’ll guide you

Visit our Belfast nursery to see our full range. We also supply native hedging and specimen trees.
